This is the next installment in my Top 25 PJJ tracks series for a year, which you can stream every track directly from Phish Just Jams. As with the previous installments, this is meant to be a list focused solely on the Phish Just Jams tracks from the year in question.

This is my version of the list for 2013. Since we've got 85 jam tracks from 2013, we're going with a top 20 list to keep it around the top 25% from a time period. I'm not suggesting that it is the definitive list and there are a few choices that I could swap out with others depending on the day. I'm not ranking these 1 to 20 but just presenting the list as a whole because really what difference does it make which jam I think is 11th or 8th or 23rd or so on. The purpose of this list is just to provide a Phish Just Jams playlist of the best jams from the year. The list will be presented chronologically and can then be parsed and dissected from there. The list will also link to the full version of each song from the terrific resource that is www.phish.in for those want to take in the whole song instead.

2013 was a year of celebration for Phish. It was their 30th year together as a band and the word was that the band intended to make the year a noteworthy one. The band started the Summer Tour off in the Northeast and ended up out west and finished off at Dick's again. The return of Fall Tour after taking the last two autumns off was a welcome one and provided probably the strongest tour to date in 3.0. It also offered their strongest showing for a New Years Run in this era as well.

Each year as Trey (and others) make changes to their rigs he can tend to take some time to determine what is the optimum use of each effect. 2013 was definitely the year Trey's Whale call got that treatment. We tried our best to keep the calls of the great beasts from the lists but your feelings on the year will likely dictate how often you spin thru this list. However, there is some killer stuff in here. The Tahoe Tweezer, for starters. The Dick's Chalkdust and the Hollywood Hood too. Disease also had one of its best years, as I've covered here before, with highlight versions throughout the year. This list ends up being heavily weighted toward the end of the year as the band just grew stronger throughout the course of the year, though that wasn't the intent when we started this process.

The full list tops out at over 4.5 hours. It can be downloaded here and can be streamed here
